BuildMyPOD theme
BuildMyPOD 2.0 release notes
1.1.5 → 2.0.0August 2026
Version 2.0 looks like the theme you know, but it runs on a new engine. We rebuilt the theme from the ground up on the latest Shopify Horizon core (v1.1.5 ran on a much older one), then added the features our merchants have asked for the most.
Everything you already use is still here: the free shipping bar, cart drawer announcements, the size guide, trust icons, and localization. Below is what changed.
Looking for setup instructions instead? Read the feature guide — how each feature works and where it lives in the theme editor.
Sell more from your ads and pages
Curated first: pin the clicked product to the top of a collection
NewOn by defaultBuilt for Meta ads carousels. When your ad links to a collection page, you can now make the exact product the shopper clicked appear first in that collection — with the right variant image. Shoppers land on the page and immediately see the product from the ad.
Add ?first=your-product-handle&variant=12345 to the collection link in your ad. The feature is on by default and does nothing unless the link carries the parameter. For the full Meta Ads walkthrough, see the curated-first setup guide.

Product labels: Sale, New in, and tag-based labels
NewOff by defaultConfigure labels once and they appear on every product card and product page. Everything ships turned off — turn on the master switch, then the label types you want:
- Sale label — plain text (the shipped format), percent off, or amount off, calculated from the product's prices.
- New in — mark recent products automatically by publish date (for example, the last 30 days), by a product tag, or by collection.
- Tag labels — show labels such as TRENDING or BEST SELLER on products that carry those tags. Off by default; only the tags you allowlist are shown.
Label colors follow your store's color palette, so a niche re-theme carries the labels with it.
Where: Theme settings → BMP: Product labels
"From" pricing for products with mixed prices
NewOn by defaultWhen larger sizes cost more, the card can show "From $29.99" instead of just "$29.99", so shoppers are not surprised at checkout. The sale price and the crossed-out compare-at price stay visible. On by default.

Product cards, one control room
Global product card styling
NewShips on (built-in blocks)Style every product card in the store from a single place: the card wrapper, the image, the title, the price, and the color swatches. Each card block on any page has a "Use global card style" switch — leave it on and the block follows the global settings; turn it off to style that one page differently.
Set it up once, and the home page, collection pages, and search results all match.
Where: Theme settings → BMP: Product cards
Search results match your cards
ImprovedThe quick search popup now renders its product results with the same global card style as the rest of the store, so search stops looking like a different theme. The quick-add button was removed from the popup for a cleaner, faster list.
Image hover effects on product cards
NewDefault: ZoomChoose what happens when a shopper hovers a product card: Zoom (default), Second image, Next variant (shows the next color of the design), or None.

Color swatches without any app
NewOn by defaultColor swatches now work out of the box — no Globo app, no manual color connections in the admin. The theme ships with the real colors of the standard Printify blanks (Bella+Canvas 3001, Gildan 5000, Gildan 64000, Comfort Colors 1717 — 241 colors in total), so products created by BuildMyPOD or Printify show correct swatches automatically.
This also removes the old problem where connected color entries blocked Printify from updating products. Want a different shade? Override any color with one line: White:#F4F4F4.

A better product page
Start with no size preselected
NewOn by defaultShoppers complained that the first available size was always preselected — and some bought the wrong size without noticing. Now the product page starts with no size selected. If a shopper taps "Add to cart" without choosing one, the button itself reacts: it turns red, reads "Please select a size", and shakes on every blocked tap. The chosen size also stays selected after a page reload. On by default; turn it off to bring back auto-selection.
Where: Theme settings → BMP: Size
Show only the selected color's photos
NewShips on (product page)A new option on the product gallery shows only the images that belong to the selected variant, so shoppers don't scroll past every other color's mockups. There is also a separate option to hide unselected variants' media (ships off). The strict option ships turned on in the product template.
Where: Product template → Product media gallery block
Product title fits on one line
NewShips on (product template)A new "Auto-fit title to one line" option on the product page title shrinks titles of up to 48 characters so they fit on a single line; longer titles wrap normally. The title also gets its own mobile font size.
Where: Product template → Title block
Pick your buy buttons' colors
NewPalette colors by defaultA new panel sets the background and text colors of the store's three buy buttons — Add to cart, Buy now, and Checkout — in one place. Branded wallet buttons such as Shop Pay keep their provider branding.
Where: Theme settings → BMP: CTA buttons
All sizes on one row on phones
ImprovedSize buttons are more compact on mobile, so a full size run (S through 4XL) fits on a single row on a standard phone screen instead of wrapping. Desktop is unchanged.
Size guide, all in one place
ImprovedThe size guide is now configured right on the product template, next to the charts it controls: add the BMP: Size guide block, then one image chart per product type. A chart with an empty product type acts as the default, so no product ever opens an empty size guide. The editor now warns you in place when something is missing, instead of failing silently.
Where: Product template → BMP: Size guide block
Announcements and cart
Countdown can hide the announcement when it ends
NewOff by defaultThe announcement bar countdown now has a switch to remove the whole announcement from the rotation when the timer reaches zero — no more expired "ends today!" messages. Off, and only the timer disappears, as before.
Where: Header → Announcement bar → Announcement
Cart drawer announcements and free shipping bar
ImprovedBoth features carry over from 1.1.5. Up to five rotating messages at the bottom of the cart drawer (up from four in 1.1.5), with a configurable rotation speed — now rebuilt on the theme's own components, so they load faster and behave consistently. The shipping bar ships turned on with a $75 goal, and the announcements ship with one message pre-filled ("30 Day Guarantee & Free Size Exchanges").

Found by search engines
SEO upgrades
NewAutomaticRequested by the community: the theme now tells search engines more about your store.
- Add your social profile links (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and the theme includes them in your store's search-engine data.
- The home page is now eligible for Google's sitelinks search box.
- Page headings were restructured so every page has a proper title hierarchy — product pages and blog listings previously had none, which hurt rankings.

Fixes
Bugs from 1.1.5 that are gone in 2.0
Fixed- Announcement bar arrows now work correctly.
- Frozen pages on Android: closing the cart drawer (or any popup) with the phone's back button left the page stuck and unscrollable. Fixed for every drawer and popup.
- Facebook / Instagram in-app browser freezes are addressed by the new core plus theme-level work.
- Cart drawer staying open on desktop: once opened, the drawer re-opened on every page you navigated to. It now closes and stays closed; opening on add-to-cart is unchanged.
- Cart drawer stealing keyboard focus on desktop: opening the drawer pulled keyboard focus away from the page, which closed open header menus. Focus now stays where the shopper is.
- Size choice unselecting itself: the picked size no longer resets a moment after the click, and the cart receives the size the shopper actually picked.
- Invisible size buttons on some color palettes are fixed.
- Blog and product page headings render as real headings again, which search engines require.
Removed or replaced since 1.1.5
2.0 is a rebuild, and some 1.1.5 pieces did not come along. Here is the honest list, so nobody hunts for a setting that no longer exists.
Replaced by something better
- Floating Add to Cart bar → the new core's native sticky add to cart on product pages.
- Mobile product header above the gallery (truncated title + price pinned on phones) → the title auto-fit and per-device title size.
- Metafield-driven discount label → the Sale label, calculated from prices — no metafields, so Printify publishing is never blocked.
- "Product Badge" text block (TRENDING / BEST SELLER pills on the product page) → Tag labels in the labels panel.
- ~84-setting buy-button block → near-stock buy buttons plus the six-color BMP: CTA buttons panel.
- Cart-drawer checkout button customization (label, icon, weight, radius, border color) → only the checkout colors survive, in the same CTA panel.
- Custom numbered pagination + products per page → the core's native products-per-page, pagination, and optional infinite scroll.
- Custom mega menu → a new compact dropdown card with collapsible sub-groups.
- Social media links wrapper block → the standard social-links block.
- "Use custom font" override (Inter only) → the standard font picker with Shopify's full font library.
Removed without a direct replacement
- Order/delivery estimate timeline ("Order placed → Shipped → Delivered") on product and collection pages.
- Collection tabs (tabbed collection browsing).
- Breadcrumbs on product and collection pages.
- Decorative wave/diagonal section dividers — only the standard plain divider remains.
- "About Brand" section and the custom "Product Features" / details-accordion sections — standard sections and accordion blocks cover these layouts.
- "Shipping Notice" block ("Shipping calculated at checkout" with a policy link).
- Collection links as buttons — only the standard collection-links section remains.
- Per-block device visibility — showing/hiding per device now works at the section level only.
- Button font-weight and carousel arrow color settings — the button weight is now part of the theme's design, not a setting.
- Styling sub-settings inside kept features — swatch border colors, cart-announcement color and size options, the shipping bar's icon options, countdown label typography. The rebuilt features use the theme's standard styling instead.

Upgrading from 1.1.5
2.0 is a new theme, not an in-place update. Install it alongside your current theme, customize it, then publish when you are happy. Your current theme keeps working until you switch.
Recommended flow: start in Theme settings (colors, product cards, labels, size, SEO), then customize each page. The global settings do most of the work — individual blocks only need attention when you want a page to differ. The feature guide walks through each panel.
