Interpretation and Definitions
Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
- Account means a unique account created for You to access Our Service or parts of Our Service. Accounts may be created via email/password or single sign-on (e.g., Google).
- Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest, or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.
- Application means the BuildMyPOD Shopify application that integrates with Your Shopify store to help configure storefronts and publish print-on-demand products.
- Company (referred to as either "the Company," "We," "Us," or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to BuildMyPOD.
- Cookies are small files that are placed on Your computer, mobile device, or any other device by a website or app, containing details of Your browsing or usage history among its many uses.
- Country refers to: Pennsylvania, United States.
- Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone, or a digital tablet.
- Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
- Service refers collectively to the Application, the related website(s), support portal, training portal, and any associated services provided by BuildMyPOD.
- Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on Our behalf, to perform services related to the Service, or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
- Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, diagnostic logs and session metadata).
- Website refers to BuildMyPOD's website and any related pages, help centers, and app listings.
- You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable. If You are a merchant using Shopify, You are responsible for Your store and Your end-customer relationships.
Scope of the Service
BuildMyPOD is a Shopify application that helps users create and manage print-on-demand storefronts. Key functions include automated store setup, product publishing, integrations with third-party print-on-demand fulfillment providers (e.g., Printify, Printful), and access to training content. BuildMyPOD does not manufacture or ship physical products and does not intentionally store or process Your store's end-customer orders; order fulfillment is handled by third-party providers that You choose to connect.
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
1) Account and Profile Data
When You create or access an Account, We may collect:
- Email address; first and last name (if provided)
- Authentication method (email/password or Google single sign-on)
- Role/permissions, organization/store name, and contact preferences
2) Shopify Store Connection Data
When You install the Application or connect a store, We may receive:
- Store metadata (e.g., store name, myshopify domain), public shop data, theme information, and permissions granted
- Non-sensitive configuration data needed to publish products and manage templates
We do not intentionally collect or store Your store's end-customer order details or payment card data. Our Application is designed to operate using product and catalog information, not order processing.
3) Content You Provide
- Product images, titles, descriptions, and other catalog content
- Support requests and communications, including attachments or screen recordings You choose to share
4) Usage Data and Device/Log Information
Collected automatically during use, such as:
- IP address, browser type, browser version, device identifiers
- Pages/screens visited, time and date of visits, time spent, referrers
- App events, performance metrics, crash logs, and diagnostics
5) Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use Cookies, pixels, tags, and scripts to operate, secure, and analyze the Service (see Tracking Technologies and Cookies below).
6) Training Access Data
If You use Our included training/course content, We may collect enrollment status, progress, and completion data to provide access and support.
7) Billing and Payments
App fees are typically handled via Shopify's billing. We do not collect or store Your full payment card numbers. Limited billing metadata may be received from Shopify for account and support purposes.
Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect
- Your store's end-customer payment information
- Your store's end-customer order contents or shipping details (handled by Shopify and/or Your fulfillment providers)
If such information is inadvertently shared with Us (e.g., within a support ticket), We will take steps to delete it.
Tracking Technologies and Cookies
We use Cookies and similar technologies to track activity and store certain information to improve and analyze Our Service. The technologies We use may include:
- Cookies or Browser Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on Your Device. You can instruct Your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. If You do not accept Cookies, some parts of the Service may not function.
- Web Beacons / Pixels. Certain sections of the Service and Our emails may contain small electronic files that help count users who have visited pages or opened emails and support related statistics.
Cookies can be "Persistent" or "Session." Persistent Cookies remain on Your device when You go offline; Session Cookies are deleted when You close Your browser.
Categories We Use
- Necessary / Essential Cookies (Session; administered by Us): enable core features (authentication, security).
- Preferences / Functionality Cookies (Persistent; administered by Us): remember choices (e.g., language, login).
- Analytics / Performance Cookies (Persistent; administered by third parties): used with Google Analytics to help Us understand usage and improve the Service.
- Advertising / Measurement Cookies (Persistent; administered by third parties): used with Facebook Pixel for Our own advertising and campaign measurement. We do not sell data and do not permit third parties to use Your Personal Data for their independent marketing.

Use of Your Personal Data
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain Our Service, including to monitor usage, configure Your store, publish products, generate mockups, and provide training access.
- To manage Your Account: to manage registration and access to features available to registered users.
- For the performance of a contract: to deliver the Application functions You installed or subscribed to.
- To contact You: by email or in-app notices regarding updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.
- Marketing communications (internal only): to provide newsletters, promotions, and product updates related to BuildMyPOD. You can opt out at any time.
- Analytics and improvement: to analyze usage trends, measure performance, and improve Our Service and user experience.
- Security and fraud prevention: to protect the Service, detect, prevent, and address technical issues or misuse.
- Legal and compliance: to comply with applicable laws, enforce Our terms, and resolve disputes.
We do not sell Your Personal Data. We use Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel for Our own analytics and advertising/measurement; We do not share Personal Data with third parties for their independent marketing.
Sharing of Your Personal Data
We may share Your Personal Data in the following situations:
- With Service Providers: including hosting, analytics (Google Analytics), advertising/measurement (Facebook Pixel), email/SMS delivery, customer support, and error tracking—solely to provide services on Our behalf.
- With platform and integration partners: Shopify (platform provider) and the print-on-demand providers You choose to connect (e.g., Printify, Printful). BuildMyPOD is not responsible for the privacy practices of those providers; please review their policies.
- For business transfers: in connection with any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business.
- With Affiliates: subject to this Privacy Policy.
- With other users: if You intentionally publish or share content in areas visible to others (e.g., community forums).
- With Your consent: for any other purpose You authorize.
- For legal reasons: to comply with legal obligations, enforce Our terms, protect rights, safety, or prevent fraud.
Role Clarification for Merchants and End-Customers
- Merchants (You) remain the legal owners of Your stores, data, and customer relationships.
- BuildMyPOD is designed not to store Your end-customer order data. Order processing and fulfillment occur via Shopify and Your selected print-on-demand providers.
- In any limited scenario where We process data on Your behalf (e.g., to display catalog information), We do so only to deliver the Service You requested.
Retention of Your Personal Data
The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We retain and use data to the extent necessary to:
- Provide the Service and maintain business records
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
- Improve safety and performance via aggregated/anonymized analytics
When data is no longer needed, We will delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period.
Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your information may be processed at the Company's operating locations and in other places where the parties involved are located. This means information may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside Your state, province, or country, where data protection laws may differ. We take reasonable steps to ensure Your data is treated securely in accordance with this Policy.
Your Choices and Controls
- Account settings: You may update certain Account details in-app.
- Email preferences: You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those emails.
- Cookies: Manage via browser settings and any in-product cookie controls We provide.
- Uninstall / Disconnect Shopify app: You can uninstall BuildMyPOD from Your Shopify Admin to revoke Our access. We will disable associated tokens and, within a reasonable time, delete or anonymize data that is no longer required.
- Access, correction, deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of Personal Data You have provided by contacting Us at support@buildmypod.ai. We may need to verify Your identity and retain certain information where required by law.
Delete Your Personal Data
You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You. The Service may allow You to delete certain information directly. Otherwise, contact support@buildmypod.ai. We may retain certain information where We have a legal obligation or lawful basis.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
Business Transactions
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Law Enforcement
Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
Other Legal Requirements
The Company may disclose Your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Security of Your Personal Data
The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us. We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and least-privilege practices). However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under 13 without verifiable parental consent, We will take steps to remove that information from Our systems.
Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. There is no accepted standard for responding to DNT signals, and We do not currently respond to such signals. We will update this Policy if standards for response are established.
Third-Party Websites and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, apps, or services that are not operated by Us, including print-on-demand providers You choose (e.g., Printify, Printful) and analytics/advertising tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel). We strongly advise You to review the privacy policy of every site You visit or service You connect. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above. Where appropriate, We may also provide additional notice (e.g., in-app notice or email). You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
